Tom Biederman is the owner, broker and principal auctioneer of Biederman Real Estate and Auctioneers. Tom’s passion, since childhood, has been real estate and quality horses. He grew up on a 700 acre farm in Springfield, Kentucky called High Point Farm, where his family raised American Saddlebred horses, Hereford cattle and crops including tobacco, corn, soy beans and alfalfa. Tom’s grandfather, Ben Hale, Sr., was a real estate broker throughout the early and middle parts of the 20th century and there Tom’s passion for serving and helping his friends and customers buy and sell property that fit their needs. Tom attended the University of Kentucky where he concentrated on Real Estate and Business studies. During college Tom went to work with Walt Robertson, J.T. Denton and Ryan Mahan at Swinebroad-Denton, Inc. learning the trade of selling real estate and horses. While with Swinebroad-Denton Tom assisted in the sales of Calumet Farm, Spendthrift Farm, Pillar Stud and many others. Around 1994 Tom opened his own business and has been blessed with great clients and customers ever since. The motto at Biederman Real Estate has been “We Get It Done” that means Tom will do whatever it takes to create smooth, successful transactions.

Mike Morrison is a 1992 graduate from the University of Louisville’s Equine Administration Program (Bachelor of Science in Business Administration). Mark, originally from Dublin, Ireland is a graduate of Stud Farm Management from the Irish National Stud. Moving to the United States over 30 years ago, and since has been actively involved in the Thoroughbred Industry in several areas including real estate, having been licensed for over 11 years. During that time he has sold and renovated horse farms, along with older homes in downtown Lexington. He has been President of the high Hope Steeplechase twice, and current Board member, along with the board of the Central Kentucky Riding for Hope. Mark comes from a long line of family architects, and is well versed on the construction of barns and the overall development of horse farm properties. Mark enjoys blending his thorough experience and knowledge of the Thoroughbred business with helping clients find the perfect property for breed and raising quality horses.

Ryan Teater is a graduate of the University of Denver’s Daniels College of Business, where he attained a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, with a concentration in finance and accounting. Prior to that, he attended Sayre School in Lexington for twelve years. He has spent much of his life working with and around American Saddlebred horses. His grandfather, father and brother are well known as trainers in the Saddlebred Industry. His father is currently President of Teater Saddlebred Enterprises, Inc., that conducts three Saddlebred sales per year at Tattersalls where Ryan has been a familiar face and has taken on an active role in that venue as well.

Originally from Henderson Co., Joe grew up in Northern KY and completed his Bachelor’s degree at American University in Washington, DC. Licensed in 1994, Joe has a background in residential & commercial transactions & later gained experience as a residential & commercial loan office. Joe’s also served as Press Secretary & Senior Legislative Assistant for then-Rep. Ken Lucas assisting the Congressman with his work on the House Financial Services Committee. In 2004 Joe accepted the position of director of Industry Relations for the national Thoroughbred Racing Association & returned to KY. In 2006, Joe established Alliand Equine, which is active in a wide range of Thoroughbred investment including pinhooking ventures, breeding & racing partnerships. Joe is a member of the national Press club & the Kentucky Society in Washington, the Metropolitan club in Covington, KY & the Thoroughbred club of America in Lexington, as well as numerous Thoroughbred & Quarter horse breed related groups. Joe & his wife, Chris, lives in Lexington with his son Drew and daughter Allison.

Originally from North Carolina, where she attained BA and Masters Degrees from East Carolina University, Joan taught school for several years before the Thoroughbred business lured her to Kentucky via Virginia. A “hands-on” horse person, she developed a farm in Virginia, was the Honorary Secretary of the Loudoun Hunt, and began buying and selling Thoroughbreds. After her move to a small Kentucky farm that she renovated as a viable breeding operation, she also became a licensed Thoroughbred trainer, alongside her husband, a lifetime trainer. Joan not only developed two farms, but also restored the historic homes on those properties. As a licensed realtor for many years, she brings her personal property experience to buying or selling both farmland and residential real estate.
